About Emile: I am a trained chemist who is employed at Re.think Leadership, an organisation that I co-founded in 2009. Re.think Leadership's work focuses on dialogue and youth leadership development. We are providing opportunities for high school youth to develop communication skills, engage in challenging dialogue, and explore what it means to be a leader in a world where the traditional beliefs about how to lead and who can lead have been thoroughly shattered. Recently, we have been particularly interested in exposing young people to the wave of innovation that is taking place in the theory and practice of effecting social change. Emile's talk at TEDxYouth@CapeTown: A Playful Look at Social Innovation In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
