Description
Flora Lichtman is the multimedia editor at National Public Radio's "Science Friday," where she makes videos for the web and chats about them on the radio. She's the co-author of "Annoying: The Science Of What Bugs Us" (Wiley, 2011)--unfortunately a topic of deep personal interest--and writes regularly for Popular Science magazine. Before coming to Science Friday, Flora worked at a NATO oceanographic lab in Italy, where she cruised around the Mediterranean Sea looking for marine mammals. She graduated from Yale University with a degree in Environmental Studies. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
