Help us create and share filmmaker Karina Duffy's journey across the world, seeking and documenting the wisdom of ancient cultures to provide sustainable solutions to problems facing the modern world. The film investigates whether it is possible that the connectedness we all crave might also be the solution for a world facing tremendous crises. Celebrating our similarities, embracing our differences. The Filmmaker Karina Duffy is a filmmaker with over 20 years experience in producing media, from the music industry to a successful production company in Hollywood funding blockbuster-style films. One morning, seven years ago, she woke up to the meaninglessness of her high-powered career in Hollywood and decided to walk away from the Hollywood machine, and to make a difference. Tahi--The Human Journey is where that awakening has lead, a film that will document her journey in search of the secret of changing human relations, between ourselves, within ourselves and with the natural world. The Journey "I traveled the world, visiting tribes in the remotest of places, reaching out to people in all walks of life, hearing their stories, and documenting in literally hundreds of hours of film the wisdom I found. This journey took seven years - so far. The resulting film that I am determined to finish and release will have not only a message of genuine hope and unity, but provide concrete insights into our human problems and their solutions." - Karina The Need After liquidating all of the real estate and assets Duffy's Hollywood life afforded her and pooling resources with a few key associates working on the film, the project has been supported over the last several years, but it's not quite enough to finish. Tahi - The Human Journey This film is about the Human Tribe—we all have similar needs and feelings, whether living in a New York high-rise or an African hut. Woven in between colorful tribal scenes, rites of passage and touching interviews are scenes from Western Society, plus experts on the subjects of connection and sustainability, and testimonies from every-day people about the challenges they face and how they overcome them. Tahi—The Human Journey captures unique footage in 21 different countries of 21 tribes, including the Western "tribe." By asking thought-provoking questions in addition to the practical information usually explored in tribal documentaries, we were able to find the pearl of humanity inside every person we met across the globe. Your decision to be part of Tahi-The Human Journey is an opportunity to directly support communities around the globe. Thank you!
