Description

On 9th March, 2012 the Aerial FX Team flew to The Ngwenya Mine, one of the oldest mines in the world, for one of Africa's largest budget demonstration jumps. The event was for the launch of the Salgaocar Swaziland railway line and ore trains that will link The Kingdom of Swaziland with Maputo. The choreographed display consisted of freefall smoke and a bomb-burst formation, into a Canopy Formation stack, with 8 Swazi flag-coloured smoke canisters being dropped either side of the stack. The Canopy Formation broke into a spiraling colour pinwheel with the Swaziland National Flag and the SALGAOCAR banner being dropped and flown. All parachutes were landed in sequence front of the Royal Family and Dignitaries. The King of Swaziland His Majesty Mswati III honoured the aerial performers and come forward to shake each of the skydivers by the hand and to thank them personally -- The 7 skydivers were Graham Field, Mike Rumble, Frederik Potgieter, Bruce Askham, Ricci Bucceri, Peter Annandale and Jasper Williams. Thanks to Chris Briers of NAC, Andre Coetzee of Henley Air and Brien Emmenis of Capital Sounds as well as Event Director and Swaziland Airshow organiser, Lyndon Hermanson. Thanks to sponsors SALGAOCAR as well as Deola and Chris Briers from NAC, Pete Lawson of Pretoria Skydiving Club, Lyndon Hermanson, all the pilots and especially my Team of skydivers for a world class performance.
