Last night, President Obama gave a speech to the National Urban League. He touted various policies of the administration, things like healthcare, policies specifically targeted towards African Americans, and even brought up the topic of gun violence in the wake of the shooting in Aurora, Colorado. And he also had a lot to say about education. The problem is, what do you do with all of those people that are already saddled with student loan debt? And why isn't the administration making it easier to refinance, like they're doing for mortgages? Especially in the wake of a new report from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau just this week that likened student loan practices to sub-prime mortgage lending, and warned about student loans keeping the economy down.
