Spectrum invited Bobby Moynihan and the Upright Citizens Brigade TourCo to the stage to celebrate the exhibition Infinite Jest: Caricature and Satire from Leonardo to Levine: http://webcms/exhibitions/listings/2011/infinite-jest--caricature-and-satire-from-leonardo-to-levine The exhibition, which explores caricature and satire in its many forms from the Italian Renaissance to the present, serves as the inspiration for this event. In its purest form, caricature—from the Italian carico and caricare, "to load" and "to exaggerate"—distorts human physical characteristics and can be combined with various kinds of satire to convey personal, social, or political meaning. With that in mind, Spectrum invited the UCB TourCo to stage an evening of long-form improv in the Museum's Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium. Spectrum is an initiative organized by The Metropolitan Museum of Art to provide fresh perspectives on the Met's collections and special exhibitions. Spectrum events offer the chance to interact with contemporary artists, to discuss art, music, video, and new media, and to socialize with other Museum fans.
