Description

A set of giant Olympic rings has been unveiled in George Square in Glasgow. But as the Games approach there are still tickets available for the Olympic football events at Hampden. Rona Dougall is joined in the studio by Glasgow City Council leader Gordon Matheson, sports writer Tom English and athlete Lee McConnell to discuss whether Scotland is going to get behind the Olympics. Speaking of Hampden ticket sales Councillor Matheson said: "Ticket sales are growing everyday and a sense of expectation is growing in the city." But Mr English said that he thought selling out Hampden would be difficult. He added: "There will be the Spanish mens team coming and there's a bit of marketing to be done on that." He continued: "I do feel that there is a bit of cynicism about the Olympics and the cost of it." Lee McConnell said: "The atmosphere is something spectacular and it's something that people are never going to see again."
