Description
With high payer scrutiny on healthcare costs, hospitals need to improve care management, coding, quality of care, and documentation efforts. A Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) program is an essential component to be competitive in today's environment. Optum, in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, is developing a CDI solution that will improve documentation to facilitate the generation of appropriate and entitled reimbursement. The Optum CDI Module will use our patented natural language processing engine, LifeCode®, to identify issues in clinical documentation, automate the physician query process and provide analytics to support quality initiatives.
