Description
http://www.ntv.co.ke A 5 storey building under construction has collapsed in Mlolongo trapping dozens. Over 40 people are reportedly trapped under the debris, the unfinished building was hosting a hotel in its lower floor and up to 30 people were in that hotel at the time of the collapse. Another 10 people are said to have been working on the top floors. Red Cross and the fire department have arrived at the scene and rescue efforts are currently underway. The teams efforts are hampered by poor lighting and weather conditions. At the moment the rescue parties have not secured specialised equipment to help in the movement of debris at the scene. Eyewitnesses say the building just sunk inside the foundation and those trapped inside had no warning signs whatsoever. Surging crowds and poor climatic conditions is also making the rescue efforts difficult
