About this documentary: The Blues - Feel Like Going Home (Martin Scorsese). (Part of a seven-part series broadcast on PBS stations) Director Martin Scorsese pays homage to the Delta (Mississippi Delta) blues. Musician Corey Harris travels through Mississippi and on to West Africa, exploring the roots of the music. The film celebrates the early Delta bluesmen through original performances (including Willie King, Taj Mahal, Otha Turner, and Ali Farka Toure) and rare archival footage (featuring Son House, Muddy Waters, and John Lee Hooker). Look up Robert Palmer's book "Deep Blues: A Musical and Cultural History of the Mississippi Delta" Palmer's Video: "Deep Blues: A Musical Pilgrimage to the Crossroads" Thanks to Alan Lomax and his dad for recording and preserving such fine American heritage for posterity.
