http://ems.lums.edu.pk/ LUMS EMS is a student based organization at Lahore University Of management sciences, founded in 2008, capable of providing pre-hospital treatment to patients suffering from trauma or medical emergency of any sort 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is currently operating with 30 members who have been certified by RESCUE 1122 or by its own training department or both. All the members have received excellent training in medical first response protocols and procedures, including CPR and First Aid. These MFRs are committed to serving others and receive no compensation for their time; this includes daily shifts, standby for events and classes for the LUMS community. LUMS EMS has a vision of extending its functionality in all universities of Pakistan. Currently 13 institutes of Lahore are under process and EMS has been established in FCC, COMSATS Lahore, and Kinnaird College. LUMS EMS provides Emergency Medical Services to the LUMS and neighboring communities. These services cover everything from treatment for minor injuries or medical problems (situations that do not require advanced care or hospitalization) to providing life-saving care to critical patients until an ambulance arrives to transport the patient. Initially funded for basic preliminary equipment by SWR department LUMS, EMS in the following years expanded itself by working tirelessly and determinedly with the help of external sponsors. In this short span of just three years EMS has done the following  Five 'Medical First Aid Response' Trainings  Two 'Management Trainee' programs with Rescue 1122 and other universities  Five 'Basic Life Support' trainings in LUMS  Three 'Basic Life Support' Trainings outside LUMS  'Community Emergency Response Team' training from Rescue 1122  Attended more than 800 emergencies  Coverage of all major events at LUMS.
