Description
Laughter is a social emotion, and it is physically contagious. This can be detected in people's brains when they listen to laughter. Professor Sophie Scott (UCL Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience) and her team investigate our responses to other people's emotions and how that is expressed in the brain. This research is at the centre of her contribution to the Royal Society's Summer Science Exhibition.
