Description
The First-Ever Top Blogueras Retreat, the first of its kind, was conceived by Latinos in Social Media (LATISM) as a life-transforming experience for our bloggers to meet with top executives and officials in our nation's capital. This historic, invitation-only gathering, was held in Washington D.C., from May 20th to 22nd, included a LATISM exclusive briefing at the White House, where Administration officials discussed the top issues affecting our Latino community: Education, Health and Jobs. The two-day program also included a "Mini-MBA," with sessions ranging from blog and business best practices, leadership skills, and social good. The bloggers were also paired up with mentors including top executives from industries, companies and causes that match their core interests. Sponsors and partners for this event included Johnson & Johnson, Procter and Gamble, Mary Kay, Southwest Airlines, Univision, Comcast, McDonald's, Fleishman Hillard, Babble.com, Macys, Porter Novelli, and Consumer Reports. The selection committee included representatives from the following groups: Las Blogueras, Blogs de Mamas & New Latina. This event was organized in partnership with Latina Bloggers Connect.
