Description
Planteada esta breve sinopsis, llega el momento de hablar de West Side Story como la principal producción musical de la Fundación Teatro Nacional Sucre, en el 2012. Para la directora escénica, Chía Patiño, la idea de llevar a escena el musical radica en la actualidad y atemporalidad de la temática. El conflicto racial y social se vive a diario en cualquier ciudad del mundo, el miedo y los estereotipos a lo culturalmente desconocido es inherente al ser humano, por lo que la rivalidad planteada por Jerome Robbins en 1949 sigue vigente hasta el día de hoy: época de constantes migraciones, de flujos de personas que van y vienen de sur a norte, y de norte a sur.
