Khan Not To Appear In 'Star Trek 2' and we have the details! Last year, rumors that Khan would appear in the sequel began when actor benecio del toro was announced as the villain. Rumors soon cooled once British actor benedict cumberbatch landed the role, but reports soon surfaced that he would in fact play Khan - though a much different version than that of Ricardo Montalban who played the genetically engineered tyrant in the original TV series and in 1982' Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan. Despite the rumors and what us trekkies have been hoping for, Simon Pegg confirmed to The Telegraph that the villian of the untitled Star Trek sequel will not be Khan! Pegg, who plays Chief Engineer Montgomery "Scotty" Scott said, "It's not Khan----That's a myth. Everyone's saying it is, but it's not." Star Trek 2 will hit the silver screen on may 17 2013 and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, Anton Yelchin and Bruce Greenwood, benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller.
