Kaipa - Solo 1978 (Sweden, Symphonic Prog) Artist: Kaipa Location: Sweden Album: Solo Released: 1978 Genre: Symphonic Prog Duration: 68:56 (with bonuses) Third studiynik of Kaipa. Recording the album took place from 19 to 27 December 1977 in the Europa Film Studios in Stockholm. During these sessions, all recorded on 24-track analog tape, under the leadership of engineer Olle Ramm (Olle Ramm). Reduced the same plate in the period from 3 to January 5, 1978. Record was produced by the musicians themselves, and Olle Ramm. Design the album cover, inspired by Jackson Browne album "Pretender" (1976), has developed one of Lars Holm (Lars Holm), which was granted on this carte blanche. One character got a picture of Lars after the name of Solo, which gave name to the whole album. Online album of Solo, was released the label Electra, appeared in May 1978 and was accompanied by a good advertising campaign in many media. However, he could not immediately repeat the success of Inget Nytt Under Solen, but gradually the level of its sales reached 10,000 copies. Problems with the sales were related to the fact that it was the beginning of summer, and at this time usually all sold poorly. Press the album was quite positive, and the group concerts were sold out. Participants Kaipa certainly achieved cult status and went to the big tour to Norway and Denmark. Several of their performances in Copenhagen were recorded for Danish radio. The band played several concerts in Finland, as well as the final chord has visited on tour in Britain. The band members have worked so much and so hard that in December 1978 decided to part ways. The fact that a few years of constant hard work they were forced to see each other every day, practically live together and are so tired of each other, that it became a negative impact both on their joint work, and the atmosphere within the team. Besides, at this very time Roine Shtolt bought 8-track tape recorder, which allowed him to begin writing his own solo album, which he planned to release on Electra Records, until I realized that the leadership of the label was not interested in his solo career, preferring to earn money on the side project Kaipa named Ingemar Bergman Troop. But anyway, Tretou Michael (Michael Tretow), who worked as an engineer with ABBA said he really liked this demo tape, and Roine decided, in spite of everything, to record an album. The rest of the musicians said they would like to use some of these songs in this album Kaipa. Tracks: 01. Den Skrattande Grevinnan (Roine Stolt) - 4:45 02.
