Description
Companies giving back was popular a decade ago, but most just gave lip service to it and only handful really did anything about it. Now days with the spotlight of social media many companies feel it is a must have just to maintain thier good reputation. However, beyond feeling obligated, I have met numerous company founders who feel strongly about giving back for social good as a personal value. A value that they want it to be a part of their company's DNA, too. Corporate Social Responsibility For Midsized Businesses If you are a big company you likely have a staffed CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) department that works on this issue full time. However, what if you are a midsize company, or even a small company, that wants to give back to the community, but needs to keep the cost of CSR affordable? What are your options? Jim Fruchterman is a passionate guy who thinks about this very subject. As a result he started Benetech to help companies make a difference, even a major difference, in the world. I caught up with Jim moments after he came off stage from giving a great talk at TEDx San Jose (http://www.facebook.com/TEDxSanJoseCA).
