Here Irene tells how her soft skin was ideal material for Ilse Koch to make gloves and lampshades from. She narrowly escaped being turned into a specialty line of leather goods. Later Irene was subject to cruel experiments to remove her camp tattoo. They were successful; today she has no tattoo (or removal scars).
