The bottom two teams in Major League Soccer's Western Conference met in Oregon on Sunday with the Portland Timbers hosting FC Dallas. Dallas had the better of a largely uneventful first half, with Brekken Shea seeing one shot saved and dragging another narrowly wide. Shea provided the opening goal early in the second period, squaring for Scott Sealy to score. Having gained the advantage though, Dallas immediately handed it back to Portland when defender Zach Loyd received his second yellow card. And Jack Jewsbury made the extra man count, firing a dipping volley into the net to equalise 11 minutes from time.. It stayed 1-1 with the result helping neither side in their quest to pull away from the lower reaches of the Western Conference.
