Description

Portland Trailblazers vs Oklahoma Thunder March 26, 2011 3/26/2011. The Portland Trail Blazers knew what they were supposed to get in terms of production when they acquired Gerald Wallace just minutes before the February trade deadline. Offense, however, wasn't supposed to be part of the deal. On Sunday night, Wallace wowed the Portland fanbase by scoring a season-high 40 points in a loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Wallace was averaging 15.6 points per game through 48 games for the Charlotte Bobcats this season before the Trail Blazers traded Joel Przybilla, Dante Cunningham, Sean Marks, and two first-round draft picks to acquire him on February 24. In 15 games for the Trail Blazers (7 starts), the veteran forward is averaging 15.5 points per game. However, he's been giving Portland more and more production as he learns Nate McMillan's offense, culminating in Sunday night's 40-point explosion. Wallace has already scored 20 or more points four times for the Trail Blazers, including a 25-point performance against the 76ers and a 28-point performance against the Wizards.
