You're shorter than I expected." - Anakin Skywalker During pre-production of Episode III, George Lucas talked to a lot of different actors for the voice role of General Grievous. He eventualy listened to a recording of an audition from an actor name Allen Smithee, and liked this voice the best. Now, the name "Allen Smithee" is actually a pseudonym that filmmakers use when they wish to disown or remain anonymous on a project that they worked on. It turned out that the man behind the submission was sound editor, Matthew Wood, one of Lucasfilm's employees who works at Skywalker Sound. Not only did Wood end up voicing General Grievous, but he also happens to play Bib Fortuna in Episode I, and voice Magaloof and Seboca in Attack of the Clones.
