Description

My take on combining two of my greatest interests: The Space Programme and the music of Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull. A slightly shorter and re-edited piece of one I did previously. Film clips from various sources including the TV Drama 'Moonshot' and various NASA film fuelled ads and TV programmes. The song kicks in after about a minute or so and relates to the Michael Collins who remained on the Command Module in solitude and in orbit around the moon while Armstrong and Aldrin made the headlines. At the points while he was orbiting on the dark side of the moon, Collins would have been the most isolated man ever, no radio contact with Earth of his colleagues on the lunar surface and over a quarter of a million miles from Earth. Lonliness in the extreme.
