Description
The Field Force Data Visualization app for mobile devices allows field technicians to use augmented reality to detect information on power systems they are viewing through their tablet or smart phone. Creating real-time access to power system data in a visual manner can significantly benefit utilities and offer quick information on any line troubles or power anomalies. The application featured in this EPRI video combines the functionality of GIS (geospatial information system), OMS (outage management system), WMS (work management system) and asset management utilizing a light weight graphical interface and messaging based on the Common Information Model (CIM). The technology combines and presents information from a variety of back office systems with the perspective of the field crew in mind.
