Description

Enigma - Mea Culpa (Part II) - HQ 1080p HD Upscale "Mea Culpa (Part II)" is a 1991 song created by the musical project Enigma. The single was the second of four singles released from MCMXC a.D.. As with the previous single Sadeness (Part I), it is sung in French and Latin. Mea culpa is a Latin phrase that translates into English as "my mistake" or "my fault". To emphasize the message, the adjective "maxima" may be inserted, resulting in "mea maxima culpa," which would translate as "my most [grievous] fault." MCMXC a.D. ("1990" in Roman numerals followed by an abbreviation of "Anno Domini") is a concept album created by the musical project Enigma, spearheaded by Michael Cretu. Released at the end of 1990, it was Enigma's debut album. The project's popularity soon soared and it reached #1 in 41 countries. Four singles were excerpted from this album: "Sadeness (Part I)", "Principles of Lust", "Mea Culpa (Part II)" and "The Rivers of Belief". "Sadeness" and MCMXC a.D. itself hit #1 in the UK singles and albums charts respectively on its UK debut in January 1991. On the U.S. market "Sadeness (Part I)" reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and MCMXC a.D. went to #6 on the Billboard 200 and remained in the charts for a total of 282 weeks. MCMXC a.D. was one of the first albums to be recorded on a hard disk after Cretu's upgrade to the A.R.T. Studios. The main theme in MCMXC a.D. could be interpreted as the struggle that one faces in life, between religion and sexuality. "Sadeness (Part I)", the main song of the album, questions the personal beliefs of the Marquis de Sade, who had an affection towards torture as pleasure. Other themes that appear on the album were based on Christian beliefs, and the end of the world from the Book of Revelation. The artwork on the sleeve of MCMXC a.D. was designed by Johann Zambryski, who also continued to design the sleeves of the next four albums after MCMXC a.D. and its compilation and DVD covers. It depicted a thick, black frame surrounding a silhouette of a figure being enshrouded in a bright light, and a Christian cross in the lower centre of the album for emphasis towards the themes of the album. Info source http://en.wikipedia.org I had the best possible source for this and it has come out looking great. The vob file is of a high quality and there wasn't much problem in removing the surface noise and fizz. This is all I have done in that area. Any other noise in the video is a 'special effect' and has been done deliberately to be part of the video. Normally I hate noise as a special effect in videos and I can't stand it, but in this Enigma video it works very well and I don't dislike it at all. Color and lighting has been tweaked and boosted. Details have been enhanced and sharpened in the scale to HD resolution. Audio was excellent from the original vob source but I have run it through a few filters to give it more kick and punch. Sound has been maximized for your enjoyment. This is the best quality you will find online for this classic Enigma video and I hope you enjoy it! :-) Be aware that some evil people will download my clip restorations, upload them to their own channel and then try to take credit for my hard work. They will even go so far as to say I stole it from them! What goes around comes around and they are storing up some very bad 'karma' for themselves. While I do not own the rights to the music or the videos themselves it is my hard work in restoring these old gems for your enjoyment that is being compromised by any such attempts at smearing my reputation. If you spot these people then let them know that you are aware that they are nothing but liars and losers.
