Description
God and the god-particle It all began in 1993 when American physicist Leon Lederman was writing a book on the Higgs boson, he dubbed it "the goddamn particle." An editor suggested "the god particle" instead. Reference 1 Today the whole world is abuzz with the news that 'the god particle' has been found! 'The July 4 discovery that marked a new chapter in scientific knowledge also reignited debate over the universe's origins and the validity of religious faith as scientific knowledge expands,' wrote Chris Lee. Reference 1 What is this 'god particle'? "The "God particle" is the nickname of a subatomic particle called the Higgs boson. In layman's terms, different subatomic particles are responsible for giving matter different properties. One of the most mysterious and important properties is mass. Some particles, like protons and neutrons, have mass. Others, like photons, do not. The Higgs boson, or "God particle," is believed to be the particle which gives mass to matter." Reference 2 Does that mean that there is no God? Lawrence M. Krauss, an Arizona State University theoretical physicist said, "With enough data, physics would make God obsolete. If we can describe the laws of nature back to the beginning of time without any supernatural shenanigans, it becomes clear that you don't need God." "It only strengthens the notion that the universe comes out of a nothingness which is everything," said Deepak Chopra the alternative medicine guru. Reference 1 Do you believe that God is real? Has your faith floundered by these statements made by scientists and atheists? It is important that each of us knows and acknowledges the truth deep within our heart. We need to know the truth for ourselves. The Word of God is the only infallible and dependable way of knowing the truth. In chapter 38 of the book of Job, God hears Job complaining about his life and asks him some questions. God said, "Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?" He asked Job, "Who has put wisdom in the inward parts [or in the dark clouds]? Or who has given understanding to the mind [or to the meteor]? Who can number the clouds by wisdom? Or who can pour out the [water] bottles of the heavens. When [heat has caused] the dust to run into a mass and the clods to cleave fast together?" Job 38: 4, 36-38 [Amplified] Could the scientists who doubt God be right? If we suppose that what they say is true, the question is 'Can something come out of nothing?' In principle, everything comes from a source. It is said that, "Scientific claims are based on testing explanations against observations of the natural world and rejecting the ones that fail the test". Reference 3 Going by this statement if something came out of nothing when the universe was formed, why is it not happening in the world even now? The Bible says it clearly, "For it was in Him that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions, rulers, or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [by His service, intervention] and in and for Him. " Colossians 1:16 [Amplified] There is no mystery when you believe. God made everything. Yes, even the subatomic particle called the 'Higgs boson.' No one can fathom or figure out everything about God and how the universe was created until God reveals it to them. God said, "Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand)." Jeremiah 33:3 No matter how much man strives to disprove His existence he will fail. For God said, "I will baffle and render useless and destroy the learning of the learned and the philosophy of the philosophers and the cleverness of the clever and the discernment of the discerning; I will frustrate and nullify [them] and bring [them] to nothing." 1 Corinthians 1:19 Reference 1: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/...
