The argument over who owns the Internet seems to be winding its way back into the spotlight, as the department of Justice launches an investigation into how major cable companies Tier and cap public internet bandwidth. Ultimately, this could be an unfair business practice by forcing customers to utilize the privitized companies' network services rather than other services like Netflix and HULU. Comcast paints a picture of a public internet that contains sites and services like netflix, while comcast's on-demand services exist on a "private," network. It makes sense to a point, but it would be extremely illegal for an internet provider to slash bandwidth to older services, making newer, more expensive services seem faster and that much better. The same applies here, but tracking this type of action is difficult at best. Comcast is currently trading up .47 % at 30.82
