Description

The daughter of South Korea's longest serving ruler - the dictator Park Chung-hee - has launched her bid for the presidency. Park Geun-hye wants her party's nomination to run in December's election. With no serious challengers from within her New Frontier Party, and poll numbers in the 40s - well ahead of any likely opponent - she seems to be charting a course back to her childhood home. But lawmakers in her own party complain that she doesn't listen to their opinions, and she rarely shows direct communication with voters. And with potential oppostion from independent software magnate Ahn Cheol-soo, who carries strong support among liberals and the young, this presidential election will demand leadership of communication. Al Jazeera's Harry Fawcett reports from Seoul.
