Cultural Capital

4y ago

French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu (1930--2002), developed the concepts of 'habitus' and cultural capital to explain the ways in which relationships of social inequality were reproduced through society and through the education system. 'Habitus' is similar to Husserl's concept of 'lifeworld', describing the dispositions or forms of subjectivity connected with a person's material, corporeal and symbolic attributes.
