some bitter words between the las cruces mayor and the city's tea party over a parade float. the tea party's float for the light parade on july third displayed a confederate flag. here's a photo of the float. it won the best of show. this outraged mayor ken mi- yagishima ... he released this statement. quote-- "the las cruces tea party can believe what ever it wants, but to have this symbol and what it represents, highlight the winning float at a celebration of our nation's independence, is an outrage.
