Chuck Bengochea, CEO, The Honey Baked Ham Company - IMPACT

Chuck, as he is called, was raised in South Florida after his family emigrated from Cuba. He excelled in sports at Cornell University where he was selected as Baseball Academic All-American and graduated with a BA in Economics. After graduation, Chuck went to work in the Financial Management Training program for General Electric. For two and a half years, he rotated through various positions and trained on financial management. In 1987, after eight years with General Electric he went to work for The Coca-Cola Company, where his most recent position was Controller of the $2 billion Fountain Division. He oversaw planning and budgeting, sales, marketing financial management, negotiating deals with major customers such as national and regional restaurant chains and all internal controls. In 1995, he joined The HoneyBaked Ham Company of Georgia as the Director of Retail Operations. Two years later he was promoted to Vice President of Retail and two years after that was promoted to Chief Operating Officer. In 2003, he was named President and Chief Operating Officer, becoming responsible for all of The HoneyBaked Ham Company of Georgia's business lines, including Corporate Retail, Franchise System (HoneyBaked Brand and Heavenly Ham Brand), Catalog, Direct Sales, and Expanded (Seasonal) Distribution. In February 2006, HoneyBaked appointed Chuck the first CEO outside the family that had founded and managed the business for four decades. He succeeded Linda van Rees, granddaughter of the company founder, who was named Chairman of the Board of Directors. Still an athlete today, Chuck is a Triathlete and a member of the United States Long Course Triathlon Team. He has competed in several Iron Man competitions internationally and domestically. Chuck has been married to Laurie for 33 years and they have four children
