The shaver itself is reassuringly shrink wrapped and comes in a sturdy zip case. Apart from power button, there is an impressive row of LEDs rather like my power drill, to indicate battery life. There is also a "sensitive" button to adjust the comfort setting i.e. the amount of head swivel action (full swing, middle and fixed. Being a bit old school, I prefer it "fixed" but go to "middle" sometimes for neck/chin shaving. This is quite a good innovation and with the Gilette Blade Technology contributes to good results. Also in the box is the cleaning station and a 170ml "clean and renew" refill. This is inserted easily in the bottom of the station and is easy to use. Insert the shaver head first, press the button and leave. The cleaning and drying cycle takes 4 hours and each refill should last for 30 cycles so it's up to you if you want to use it after every shave You can also clean under the tap, which could be useful when on your travels. The instructions recommend replacing the refill after every 8 weeks, used daily or not. The cleaning refills are £8.45 a pair on here so you'd need about 4 sets per year if you adhere to the manufacturers guidelines which we always do don't we chaps ? You will also need a shelf near to your shaver point as the 2-pinned power cord is not the longest. The footprint is approx 13cm x 11cm. There is also a cleaning brush included. In use, the shaver is very good, handles well, not too noisy and gives good results, particularly in the troublesome neck area. The cleaning system works well and you really feel like you're using a new shaver after a full cycle. If a blade shave gives 100%, I'd give this 90% but in half the time, which is a good score for an electric as most men would probably agree. The trimmer also works well for sideburns. The instructions are very clear and thorough and well worth reading. Would I recommend this, if you can afford it then definitely, yes.
