Description
AP United States History. Sick Progressive Era (1900-1929) Rap Lyrics: It begins in the 19-double-zero McKinley Mr. President standardizing gold But he didn't last long, assassination It was up to Roosevelt to rule the nation But the Filipinos rebellin Problems with the panama canal, oh well then Wright brothers build the first plane Only fly a couple seconds so it sucks mayne stuck together wood and duck tape Can ya feel it, gotta sanitize my meat, food, drugs So they passed a couple acts in congress Roosevelt and Japan Gentleman's agreement Allow 'mo space for them Japanese immigrants 1908, Roosevelt steps down Taft smackin steel oil trusts straight to the ground Woodrow Wilson presidency took This is what I learned from my history book in 1917 America was dragged into WW1 US ships were targeted by Germany's guns, but the war began in Europe 3 years prior, and since then much more events had transpired first, the archduke of Austria-Hungary was shot it triggered the war, agitating Europe's melting pot the Allies fought against the central powers, it was a big conflict involving the world's superpowers the US tried to stay out of it though but had no choice when Lusitania was sunk by torpedo after the US joined, the war ended one year later proving that the strenght of the Allies was much greater after 4 long years WW1 met its demise an armstice between Germans and the Allies from the results of WW1 the whole earth shook this is what i learned from my history book Lets continue with the 18th amendment Alcohol prohibited from sellin or consumption Crime rose and the Red Scare made it worse Pointin fingers at the criminals, happen to be foreigners Congress decides not the join the League They don't wanna be a part of a violent family 19th amendment grants woman's suffrage Harding is the next president of the 20's But the teapot dome scandal Made his reputation go to a level couldn't handle Died the same year, Coolidge up to bat Immigration act passed, 2% cap, now wassup with that 1928, Kellogg Briand, America and France War aggression no longer an option Stock market crash left society shook This is what I learned from my history book
