Al Catraz Returns to the Ocean at Point Reyes 5-1-12

Al Catraz, a young sea lion, was rescued by The Marine Mammal Center from Alcatraz Island on March 21, 2012. After some much needed TLC and medical care, "The Rock" escapee, along with four other healthy rehabilitated pinniped patients, returned to their ocean home on May 1, 2012. As of May 1, 2012, The Marine Mammal Center has rescued 232 marine mammals this year. The Marine Mammal Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that rescues and rehabiliates sick, injured and orphaned marine mammals along 600 miles of California coastline.
