Specifically: establishing credit. Many first time home buyers have little to no credit established when they begin to look for a house. You have a couple ways to take care of this... You can take out a secured credit card. It's similar to a debit card but establishes credit better. You put money in the account and charge up to that amount. You can charge a small amount and pay it off each month. Make sure you keep the balance below 30-percent of the limit, and always pay it off.
