So the plan for the day was to be the sixth man of the French AC45 Energy Team for the last training day. I get an email this morn stating plans have changed and I have been bumped off the boat. So I'm not signed up for a photoboat and start scrambling for a boat so I can get off the land and catch some action. I managed to snag a ride on one of the Energy Teams support boats. (Hanging around the docks like a sailing groupie pays off sometimes.) Merci beaucoup pour l'équipe de l'énergie trajet. I have no idea what I just translated in French. I could be in trouble. It was a great ride today but a very quiet one because my French stinks....clearly. This is my first time seeing the AC45's live. They are way faster than the Extreme 40's I was on last summer. As a matter fact, they are so fast I need to modify the way I shot a bit to make sure everything is in focus and the action is stopped. Always learning. And you aren't always sitting still when you shoot because the cats are moving so quick the RIBS need to keep up. Lots of balancing my graceful figure midship. So it was a very good training day for me too. So no GoPro footage today but I did manage to get enough frames with my Canon to put together a very short music video. Thanks for the music Autumn Above (http://www.autumnabove.com) Stay tuned for more action tomorrow. I think it's going to be a great few series at Fort Adams. Lots of folks here today just to watch the practice.
