Andhra Pradesh Police presented a scintillating show Fantasea at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad on 30.12.2011 in connection with the Closing Ceremony of 30th All India Police Equestrian Meet 2011. This is a symphony of the police brass band in a fascinating fusion with the film clips and rainbow laser beams to play patriotic and popular songs besides the best of military marches. This is the first time such an eclectic mix of a performing art and advanced technology for a musical performance is being done in the country. It is unique for the officers & men at SVPNP Academy have swayed to the tunes played by the police bandsmen. Shri Ranjiv Singh, Dalal, IPS Director General of Police, Haryana has presided as Chief Guest at the show. Forty two select musicians drawn from the Andhra Pradesh Special Police Battlions at Yousufguda, Kondapur, Mancherial, Kakinada, Venkatagiri, Kadapa, Mangalagiri and Beechpally, the Andhra Pradesh Police Academy, City Armed Reserves of Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam, Police Training College, Ananthapur, Special Armed Reserve, Amberpet, Cyberabad, Khammam and Nellore districts are presenting the marches and melodies. Indian Idol Sreeram Chandra in a special guest appearance performed at the show before an invited audience. The programmed is conceived, designed and presented by Smt Tejdeep Kaur Menon, IPS, Addl.Director General of Police, Training & Sports. The programme of Fantasea and bandsmen details are enclosed herewith. The Andhra Pradesh Police Band is among the best ones on the country winning the Gold Medal at the annual All India Police Band Competitions held at Bhopal in March 2011.
