Description
The Nye County commissioners passed a final 2012-13 fiscal year $60.28 million dollar budget, It takes care of the $1.6 million dollar deficit. The budget incorporates continuing a spending freeze, a continued freeze on STEP pay increases, a reduction in employee work hours by 5 percent and a 50 percent reduction in overtime. Property taxes are expected to decline, but not as much as this year. General fund revenues are estimated at $32.5 million dollars for the coming year, down from $33.58 million this year and $37 million last year.
