June 21 marks the 100th birthday of the Houston Symphony and you are invited for a free concert at Miller Outdoor Theatre! Celebrate the kick-off of the Centennial Season with a free concert at Miller Outdoor Theatre open to all of Houston. Join the Symphony, chorus, American Idol Finalist Lakisha Jones, a marching band, dancers and other special guests for a concert of orchestral blockbusters. Plus, enjoy a spectacular fireworks display! The orchestra will perform favorites like Beethoven's Ode to Joy with the Houston Symphony Chorus, selections from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, and John Williams' Liberty Fanfare. Plus, hear music from The Planets--An HD Odyssey, paired with images of NASA's exploration of the solar system projected on a giant screen.
