Description

This is a fantastic creation! I love the way this machine interacts with kids - and how kids react to Russell. There are touch sensors on Russell's nose and chin. When you touch either of these places, Russell reacts by saying something to you. Listen carefully. . . . There is a CAN interface running most of Russell's innards. CAN is "controller area network" the same data bus that runs in cars that integrate computer electronics and automotive systems like navigation, electric power steering and stability control - also called "telematics." The mechanism is a combination of electric motors and hydraulic actuators. This moving work of art looks spectacular when it is dark - this is a "must see" thing at Maker Faire - and other places, too.
