Held beneath a bridge in Kings Cross, the 2014 Spring/Summer collection wowed audiences with a romantically dishevelled spectacle and there were audible gasps at the raw, faintly Edwardian feel of all the faded fabrics, tarnished gold buttons, ripped away sleeves and frayed lapels on show. Burton was appointed Creative Director of Alexander McQueen after McQueen hung himself in 2010. Since launching Sibling in May 2008, Sid Bryan, Joe Bates and Cozette McCreery have become known for their kooky knitwear for men - and their latest collection certainly did not disappoint. Their 'West Side Story' themed show featured brash, loose, chain-link knits and dangerously out-sized sweater and shorts combinations. Excitement reached fever-pitch with the debut run for lauded British designers Marcus Wainwright and David Neville, whose New York-based fashion label 'Rag And Bone' continues to polarize critics. As Wainwright explained, it was a more muted catwalk for them than usual: "It's a sort of distillation of a lot of Rag And Bone key aesthetics - quite minimal compared to what we normally do." The label, which started 10 years ago as a menswear company specializing in jeans, has been more commercially successful with its womenswear, with actresses Gwyneth Paltrow and Jessica Alba both notable fans.
