Description

Blender 2.7 Cycles has now given us Volumetric Lighting for Cycles. This is part one of an introductory tutorial into the dark and mysterious world of the new Cycles Volumetric Shader, I attempt to shed some light on the matter by shedding some Volumetric Light "through" a window. Be warned some faking is required. I will also show you how to set up the entire scene without any composting required. I will use a special technique to improve shadow detail and highlights using an area lamp. I will also refer you to a Blender group node tool that you can download from another Blender user to reduce noise in your Cycles renders.
