Description

In this video, I demonstrate how to make the 'restaurant style' roll of my dream. I have fond memories of eating a Luby's cafeteria when I lived in Texas. Their rolls were to die for. These rolls taste exactly like the ones they serve. Enjoy! CLOVERLEAF DINNER ROLLS 1/2 cup evaporated milk 1 cup water 2 1/4 teaspoons yeast Heat milk and water until warm. Add yeast and stir. Let rest 5 minutes. 1 egg 3/4 cup vegetable oil ( lots of time I just use 1/2 a cup) Stir egg and oil into milk/yeast mixture. Combine: 1/4 cup sugar 1 teaspoon salt 4 cups flour Stir wet mixture into dry. Stir until well combined, scrapeing edges of bowl until clean. Cover with a cloth and let rise for an hour away from drafts. Grease muffin tin. Roll dough into approximately 1" balls. Place three balls in each muffin cup to form a cloverleaf. Cover and let rise about an 45-60 minutes, away from drafts. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place roll in preheated oven and bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown on top. Any leftover dough can be store in a covered container, in the refrigerator.
