An Atlas 5 rocket successfully launches the top-secret NROL-41 spacecraft for the National Reconaissance Office (NRO) on September 20, 2010 from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Rocket/Payload: ULA Atlas V carrying the National Reconnaissance Office L-41 payload. This marks the 27th satellite launched for the NRO since December 1996 and all mission descriptions are classified.   Date/Launch Time/Site: Sept. 20, 12:03:30 a.m. EDT (Sept 21), from Space Launch Complex-3, Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. Due to the customer's request, the launch broadcast will end after confirmation of payload fairing separation approximately five minutes after liftoff.  This is the third Atlas V launch from the West Coast in program history and sixth overall ULA launch of 2010. This is the fourth Atlas V launch of the year with the previous three launches taking place from SLC-41 at Cape Canaveral.
