Sanofi BioGENEius Challenge GTA Competition Participants from University of Toronto Schools

Alina Ma and Quentin Wong, both students at University of Toronto Schools, won the Commercialization Award at the GTA Sanofi BioGENEius competition. In their project, Alina and Quentin identified the main substance from a strain of fungus that was capable of degrading a widely-used form of plastic. A discovery that could one day greatly reduce plastic waste in landfills. Their mentor was Dr. Mohini Sain of the University of Toronto.
