Description

In Ozal, Erbil there are approximately 4,000 displaced people from the Nineveh Plains. The church was paying 120,000 per month for 240 homes. Each home has 2-4 families (more than 800 displaced families). Another 160 families are due to move into these homes since the church can't afford continuing to pay their rent. Due to the addition of 1.8 million displaced and refugees to the Kurdistan region, the KRG turns off the water every other day (or sometimes longer) in order to manage the water crisis. So if you don't have a water tank on the days that the tap is turned off, your home doesn't have water. In Ozal, with each home having 15-25 people, one water tank is not enough to meet a full day's need. The church has secured a 2nd tank for 180 of the 240 homes they rent in Ozal. Thanks to Shlama donors and Abona Raed, we will complete the homes by purchasing 60 water tanks. Thank you to: Sylvia, Tom, and Shawn, all from Michigan, as well as countless others.
