Description

Percussion great Richie Gajate Garcia stopped by the KickPort booth at NAMM 2014 to tell us how he liked the new FX Series Sound Ports we sent him. In short, he liked them. A lot! He particularly liked the FX-1SN snare port. He loved how the snare port removed ring from the drum, while adding body and not muffling the note. He was also the first person to try brushes with the snare port, and it sounds awesome! The Puerto Rican born Richie Gajate-Garcia is known as "El Pulpo" (spanish for the octopus), because of his ability to play multiple percussion instruments simultaneously. Yea, he's that good! Richie "Gajate" Garcia's masterful understanding of various percussion instruments and his ability to clearly convey information have made him one of the most renown educators today. He has more than 450 clinics under his belt, several DVD's, and 3 books. Gajate is a regular contributing author to "DRUM!" Magazine. Richie is a LP endorsed percussionist who has played with many great artists over the years including: Diana Ross, Don Henley, Patti LaBelle, and Hiroshima. Richie can be heard in well over a dozen movie soundtracks like "The Italian Job", "Maid in Manhattan", "I-Spy", "The Mummy Returns", "Emperor's New Groove" (a personal favorite), "Kronk's New Groove", "Brother Bear", and "Robots". Richie Garcia is also a regular user of the KickPort in his bass drum, and the CajonPort to enhance his Cajon drum. www.kickport.com Join the Audience: ★ Twitter: https://twitter.com/kickport ★ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/KickPortInternational
