Description

This song tells the story of the dolphin slaughter in Taiji, Japan and chain of events that follow. The first verse walks you through the dolphins perspective while being trapped into "the cove" and then forced to watch its pod/family slaughtered. The second verse speaks to the emotional struggle a cetacean faces after being sold into captivity. The chorus is a call to action. I can do better. Mankind can do better. This issue is not just an animal welfare problem, but a human rights issue as well. For more information please visit dolphinproject.org and seashepherd.org. Lyrics written by Skaught & Mandy Parry "It started with crashing sounds then we raced for cover Now I know we're not alone as they raided our homes We swam in circles until our bodies gave out and tides turned red The tide turned red... They deserve better We can do better than this We can make a change within ourselves Imagine you're trapped in their walls In isolation, sleep deprivation Sedated and confused A barrier, forced to call it home You wont break through concrete walls You’re dying out loud in front of the crowd They deserve better We can do better than this We can make a change within ourselves Hold on Love"
