Description

Stephen Colbert just couldn’t resist giving his viewers an update on North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Monday’s episode of “The Colbert Report.” The comedian poked fun at rumors that Kim had disappeared for several weeks because his ankles broke beneath his excess weight. “There is huge news out of North Korea where dear leader Kim Jong Un has finally reemerged in public after a courageous battle with stage five cheese ankle,” laughed Colbert. He also brought up Kim’s enjoyable trip to a lubricant factory this past summer, which was itself the subject of one of Colbert’s previous segments on his show. “Unfortunately, his best friend, ‘Lubey,’ wasn’t available to celebrate with him, so instead, Kim paid a visit to the second happiest place in North Korea, an orphanage,” continued Colbert, making fun of recent photos taken of the newly emerged leader. Colbert also addressed the recent return of prisoners Kenneth Bae and Matthew Todd Miller to the U.S. from North Korea, expressing his surprise that their release “was not negotiated by Dennis Rodman.” Rodman and Kim, of course, have become unlikely pals.
