Description

Hi welcome to the Run List, I'm Chris Chappell. Have you ever heard the term fall down drunk? Well this guy sure has. (show his picture) 20-year-old Tom Stilwell had a really good idea. The Brit, who was on a "working holiday" (wink wink) in Auckland, New Zealand, realized he was locked out of his 14th floor apartment. Call the building superintendent? No! Call his room mate? No! Break down the door? No! Jump from the 15th floor balcony to his 14th floor apartment? Bingo. Did I mention he was drunk? Now, believe it or not, this was a bad idea. As Tom tried to make the jump, he lost his grip and plummeted 13 stories. He actually landed on another building, which is why he didn't go the whole way. When he asked his upstairs neighbor, "Can you please let me jump off from the balcony?", she was like, sure, come in. I mean he was only a little bit tipsy, why not?! Apparently she didn't actually think he was going to do it. and at 2 am, I bet she probably wasn't thinking about much but sleep. Now what's unbelievable is that Tom didn't die. If he did, it'd be a tragedy, but because he didn't, we can laugh at his poor drunken decision. He was rushed to the hospital and is in critical but stable condition with back and neck fractures, a broken wrist and internal injuries. Not the least of which was his pride. But it gets even crazier. His room mate, who did have his keys on him, showed up at the apartment just 15 minutes later. Shocked at what his friend did, he said "He's normally the sensible one of all of us." If that's true, I hope somebody is keeping an eye on his friends. So the lesson in this is don't drink! Stay at home with your parents and read a nice book. It's way more fun than neck fractures and internal injuries. So what do you guys think? What is the poorest decision you have made while drunk and what did you learn from it? Or if you don't drink, why? Comment below and check back for more from the Run List.
