Description

A Whirli Placebo original with CC in the video and lyrics below. Recorded live in front of an virtual audience on May 19th, 2013, with post-production addition of an accordion track using ThumbJam. "The Underwear Whisperer" is a song about pretentiousness, pettiness, arrogance and absurdity: four topics that often are the topic of my songs. Inspired by one of my favorite SL personal experiences, a few years ago a cartoon musician successfully lobbied to have me dropped me from playing a virtual venue. I wrote this song then, forget about it, then recently rediscovered it, updated the melody and found it still made me smile. Enjoy. The Underwear Whisperer music & lyrics: Whirli Placebo When the world first arrived and began to sing its song the angels held their breath until I came along. I filled this life with tunes that had seen much better days And allowed adoring crowds to sit at my feet and graze. My fingers are so nimble --- my songs: simply routine; Endlessly repeating dreams born at seventeen. Where am I in the night when no one else is there? Singing songs to glowing screens as if I really care. I serve adoring crowds their daily bread each day, they worship and sing back and pay me as they pray. I'm just a simple man ordained to be a king I show my kindness to them every time they kiss my ring. My fingers are so nimble --- my songs: simply routine; Endlessly repeating dreams born at seventeen. Where am I in the night when no one else is there? Singing songs to glowing screens in my underwear. This wondrous moving world often makes no sense, The winds blow where they will, against them no defense. The edge of madness grows with ever feigned 'Hello'; but I never stop my songs they're worth their weight in gold My fingers are so nimble --- my songs: simply routine; Endlessly repeating dreams born at seventeen. Where am I in the night when no one else is there? Singing songs to glowing screens as if I really care. Singing songs to glowing screens in my underwear.
